The use of genetic data is a key element in the personalized medicine paradigm, where better health can be achieved by tailoring prevention, diagnostics and treatment to each patient’s individual biological characteristics. This talk will give a short overview of how genetic data is currently used in personalized medicine in Norway and how its use can be imagined in the future. In the end some ethical concerns related to personalized medicine will be discussed.
